چکیده
Abstract Zone Umide della Capitanata, located in the northeastern part of Apulia Region, is one most extensive coastal wetlands Italian peninsula and largest components Mediterranean wetland system. Despite its high ecological importance, this site has been undergoing a variety pressures intensified recent decades. This study analyzes evaluates changes occurred area between 2010 2020. Land cover habitat maps were performed by photointerpretation on-site surveys, classified according to FAO-LCCS EUNIS taxonomies, respectively. To focus on local dynamics, four subset areas analyzed separately. A set landscape metrics was computed analyze structure. The anthropogenic affecting described through Driving Forces-Pressures-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) conceptual framework. Numerous identified, deriving from both finest thematic redefinition pressures. Both class conversions modifications identified quantified means transition matrices. Most observed borne classes belonging saltmarshes dune systems. In particular, configuration well highlighted specific metrics. Agriculture practices water flow pattern turned out be main driving forces exerting these natural Significant differences found subsets under analysis, thus indicating that different management strategies lead levels conservation.

Land use, water and Mediterranean landscapes: modelling long-term dynamics of complex socio-ecological systems.
The evolution of Mediterranean landscapes during the Holocene has been increasingly governed by the complex interactions of water and human land use. Different land-use practices change the amount of water flowing across the surface and infiltrating the soil, and change water's ability to move surface sediments. Conversely, water amplifies the impacts of human land use and extends the ecologica...

Quantifying land use/land cover changes is essential to monitor and assess the ecological consequences of human disturbances. Ecological condition and water quality of wetlands are highly related to the landscape characteristics, including land use/land cover (LULC) types and their fractions in the upland and the surrounding landscape. The changing characteristics of LULC in Shadegan Internatio...

This paper examines the coastal ejido (collectives of peasant landholders) sector’s response to the 1992 amendment to Article 27 of Mexico’s Constitution, which for the first time legalized the sale and rental of ejido lands. Our analysis is based on a case study of southern Sonora, Mexico. The results indicate a shift in land tenure from the ejido to the private sector and a corresponding conv...

Wetlands are sensitive ecosystems that are increasingly subjected to threats from anthropogenic factors. In the last decades, coastal Mediterranean wetlands have been suffering considerable pressures from land use change, intensification of urban growth, increasing tourism infrastructure and intensification of agricultural practices. This study investigated the effects of microhabitat characteristics on soil seed bank structure, regeneration strategies, and plant composition in a Mediterranean coastal sand dune in Israel. Three different microhabitats were selected: (a) open patches between shrubs, (b) shrub understorey, and (c) open, disturbed patches in pedestrian trails. In each microhabitat two types of sampling plots w...
